hello viewers after riding Montu in my last video and staying true to my promise to share some of the quieter less frequented roads in this beautiful part of provance we’re back to ride a few of them in this video actually there’s more than just a few we were surprised and delighted by the number and frequency of calls here and how wonderful the rides were a ride in provance so let’s start with the c de laqua Rouge starting in entra show and it’s farming Hilltop castle and setting off in a clockwise direction to reach the first call of the day the C laqua Rouge can also be reached less steeply from leil on the other [Music] side [Music] next there’s the V to in the distance Vineyards loaded with [Music] grapes crickets still early morning in 200 ft turn right onto Avenue Del system38 on the coal Rouge somewh in 6K next call out here exciting through beautiful Olive grow here 5K the summit average of 3% that’s much better than nines and 10 it was yesterday for the V two [Music] not B [Music] that our next call after leaving leel was the called [Music] ey a 6.3 km climb at an average gradient of 5.1% [Music] [Music] these roads are just beautiful aren’t they [Music] cold eye altitude [Music] 718 there’s the view we met a lady here who many know as shamany Jan if you’re watching Jan it was great to meet you yeah that would be a good idea and then move back to north of neon couple the rides if not one if or maybe two rides there having some hot rock treatment look at the swim so good isn’t it to cool [Music] down Tuesday 27th of August we’re just above lret a campsite looking towards the bonto which is looking rather stormy at the moment it’s super hot today got up to 34 and now it’s just looking really stormy over there rather spectacular scenery over provance really dramatic Sky we’re going to be in for a thunderstorm just pan you around medieval Town crushed above us quite question how much would you pay for a hotel room with a view like this so after suitable refreshment we move on to the next day and a few more calls riding in an anticlockwise Direction let’s take a look at the C de rust down first we start and finish our ride from the summit of the C de lour but this ride can also be tackled from the other side inv volon [Music] holders Rens altitude 1028 8 km to the summit and just look at this no traffic no vehicles just us and the hill fantastic really arid here about another 7K and a bit to go to the summit fantastic Village over there guess we’re going to ride through it this [Music] landscape lizards scotting across the road [Music] get the camera out again this CU it’s so amazing there’s a path along that Cliff face all the way over there look at that now continue straight on d135 [Music] this was definitely the best part of the ride for me ascending through a steep narrow and deserted Gorge it reminded me a little of the Valley of the tear in Grand Canaria epic we’re at K Des R STS altitude 1028 and look around it’s a bit like no one else here in the world [Music] hold the RH stting the bleeding obvious and once again the uh traffic congestion is getting a bit much [Music] just 2 kilm at an average gradient of 3.4% our route was coming from the opposite direction but from San there it’s 3.9 km and averages [Music] 6.1% this was a beautiful Village but after a good food break we move on to the next and final call before returning to our starting point on the summit of C de lasource you’re a freak when you get [Music] to are you happy a night me [Music] [Music] without and so we returned to bouier before the final stretch to the van parked at the summit of the C lasur for those interested in riding this from the west and the South here follow the [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] stats Rim provance still recycled up here today to this point just pulled up for the night done a little bit of washing the awning out there’s two there’s a view of the far distance as ever we’ll leave this beautiful location with no trace the morning bye for now but we’re not done yet our next ride will take us over yet more calls more beautiful scenery and more perfectly paved roads and once again very little traffic and we’re starting from the village of rosan let’s go 30th of August leaving rosans on the start of a 50 odd mile ride in provance just to the north beautiful morning off we go [Music] sweeping roads mile gradient hardly a car [Music] there’s a few leaves starting to drop [Music] well bit Samy so bit Samy been a bit sick of all this [Music] traffic now de [Music] R follow this way for 0.41 m [Music] next after riding through beautiful Meadows in a tiny Hamlet the road twists its way up through a spectacular Rocky landscape before emerging through the trees and the first call of the day [Music] from our Direction it’s 10 km at an average of 5.2% from valdrome it’s a slightly easier 9.6 km at 5% next called a Rosas please forgive my pronunciation cold the rosson 5K to go 7.2% the next bit we’re riding from valone a shorter and steeper Ascent from this side at an average of 5.2% if you send from esta it’s a little [Music] easier just look at this mile upon mile upon mile of smooth roads we’re on the border of haers Alps and provance just pan you around here for a a bit of a 180 just how quiet it is in these areas if you want somewhere magnificent to cycle virtually no traffic then this is it finally we take on called the Pomo or called the fer from our Direction lar it’s an average of 6.4% but it felt pretty tough riding uphill for over 7 km after such an undulating day if you ride it from rosan where we started this route it’s a little bit less challenging it’s over 1,00 200 ft to the Top This coad Day what should I do [Music] blessed with some magnificent scenery did a cloud building hopefully keep us a bit cooler on this Ascent which looks pretty [Music] tough there we made it which just left a Sublime descent back to rosan and the toughest challenge of making toast in a van I hope you’ve enjoyed the quiet roads and uplifting scenery we’ll be back next time to ride a couple of the better known Roots see you soon beans on toast tonight just quickly turn that over before I burn it again the view out the back [Music]

  1. By 'eck I'm amazed you two didn't get saddle sore with all that cycling 😲Looks like you found some lovely back roads though and passed through some fabulous country. Haven't spotted you in the Tour of Andalucia this week but I'll keep looking!
Happy birthday for next week (?) Sue. I'll be spending mine in Glen Coe where hopefully there will be some snow 🤞

  2. Some lovely routes, Sue. But must difficult in places, – you’re out of the saddle 😅 The hot rock treatment, by the river, looked relaxing. 🫠 The quiet roads and scenery look great. Well done ❤
