Is it normal for a bottom bracket shell not to be faced in production? I just bought this new Trek Emonda ALR frameset and I was wondering if new frames always ship with unfaced bb shells. This frame also has a few paint imperfections but I kinda dont wanna go through all the hassle of returning it. I also love the color scheme. What are your thoughts?

For whatever reason Trek face the BB shell, then cover it in paint. Sometimes half of it is masked too. Scrape the paint off and send it, or pay someone like me a bunch of money to get the expensive tools out
Send an email to Trek Support and ask them.
I just used a wrench to put my bottom bracjet in and had no problems
