Been looking for a new bike, mainly for my partner but I might use it too since we're the same height, just different inseam. I wanna get something similar to my Surly bridge club maybe but it can be a bit more towards MTB. I've been considering a basic hardtail with Judy fork from different brands, also been considering a used Unit X frame and build with it. Eitherway I also had Sonder bikes in my radar for a while but they don't seem the most popular around here or bikepacking.com, they have a this option for their Frontier model which is basically an aluminum hardtail and you can replace the sus fork with their carbon one with no added cost. I'm just curious if people have experiences with it and is a safe option. For reference, we are not planning any world tour but some maybe week long bikepacking trip here and there in Europe where we relocated to recently. Main reason I'm considering this over sus fork is the lower maintenance part + maybe the mounts on the fork. I've never owned a hardtail though. Appreciate any insights!

  1. I’ve also been looking at one of these. Yet to pull the trigger but looks like a perfect bikepacking / commuting utility bike
