Doing intervals feels better though, since you do not have much time to think, but what about Z2 rides which should be the majority of time spent on trainer… How do you guys endure it?
I never do more than 90mins on indoor bike and twice the week at most.

You don’t watch TV/movies?

Simple, I don’t do it. In the winter I switch to other sports, bouldering, more focus on weight lifting. Discovered Padel which is mad fun. Tbh I’d rather go running – excuse me while I hold back my vomit – in the rain before I cycle indoors. And I did try it, so this is not some reddit-informed opinionion. I invested money, had the rocker plate, the fans, tried Zwift, Rouvy, etc. Just not for me.

I used to watch tv or movies but time passed so slow. Then I started doing crosswords and time would fly by because I’m not that good at them. Finish a puzzle and a ton of time is already gone

I have my triathlon bike hooked up to my trainer almost 24/7 and for any easy/long z1/2 rides I’ll just play xbox in my aero position. Two birds one stone

Doing dedicated Z2 only with a group and constantly reading chat. Otherwise I try to stick to workouts and races. Then do Z2 for an hour afterwards. Basically never do free rides without a specific time or power goal for a route. This keeps my motivation high, requires concentration and I can do up to 16hours a week on the trainer without music, show, podcasts, etc.

Nah… After a 7 hour ride I still WANT to go on even if I can’t. After 1h of Zwift I really, really don’t want to ride any more….

Use my Zwift time to catch up on my television shows

Personally…. I don’t. Not unless I am really desperate. I put studded tires on and keep cycling outside. Part of the joy in cycling for me is being outdoors.
Once it snows enough, I switch to cross country skiing.

I do find it dull. Group rides help a bit but I prefer to play some phone games or watch some videos. I did manage 4 hours once but I am not doing that again. I am pretty lucky that winters are fairly good here..

I’ve tried many things, by far video games are the best time killers
