Join me as I travel to Cologne Germany for the first time!

Germany. Germany. Germany. After a 3 and 1 half hour train ride that was only supposed to be just over 2 hours, we are now most of my train. I just got off. We are now in Germany in Cologne, which is very exciting. The reason it was delayed is cuz there was unauthorized people on the tracks. So, that was pretty awkward. But um for some delays uh croissant or two, we finally made it and the first thing I see is a KFC in Germany. That’s so funny. Okay, catch up in a bit. I just walked So, I just walked out from under a bridge here in uh Cologne and I come around the corner and boom, that thing is just right behind me. And I don’t even know what to say about it. Like I can’t even take my picture in front of it because it’s like you can’t even see it. It’s just the stairs. Like that is crazy. So I try not to get too excited cuz that’s on tomorrow’s agenda is to explore. I just Wow. I’m kind of speechless at this moment. I’ll tune in once I’ve got it together. Okay, continuing on. Just walking to my hostel just somewhere up there. And uh yeah, Germany, guys. Wow, Germany. That’s wild. This cathedral genuinely blows my mind. I don’t even understand how. Like, honestly, how just wow. Time to go in. This place is genuinely crazy. Like the fact that this is built just wow. Just wow. I’m now getting a tour of the Cologne Cathedral Treasury, but you’re not allowed to film inside. So, this is as far as I can go. And same with the towers. They said do not film. So, I will not film. Some guy accidentally filmed um one of the workers here. He was in ceremonial robe or something. I don’t know what you call it here, but um and the guy said stop. It can be up to 2 years in jail for filming clergy, I think is what he said. It’s crazy. Lots of stairs and it just keeps going all the way to the This is wild. My legs are tired. I’m only a minute in. Okay, we made it. And I am a little gassed. But this is cool up here. Holy. Wow. There’s that one. Well, guys, here’s the view from the top of the cathedral. All Germany. Kind of caged in here. It’s pretty cool. Look all the way around. All the points. Okay, we have made it to Yep, that place. And we’re going to be taking a gondola over the Ryan River. And by we, I mean me and you guys, cuz I’ll probably take a video. So yeah, I’m excited. I think it’s like €6 just for a fun little hop across the river. Why not? On the gondola. Got it all to ourselves. Oh my goodness. This is real close quarters here. At least I got it by myself and let’s just let’s go for this river. Okay, we’ve been waiting here for a second. So, I think you have to um I don’t even know the cycle. You just sit and you wait for a bit and then you get on. We’ll see when we get on. We’re rumbling. I think the one in front of us is about to go. Oh. Oh, now we got a bunch behind us. Oh, yeah. There it goes. Oh, now I’m moving. My turn now. Yippee. Okay. Well, in the meantime, this is a a pretty cool opportunity here. Uh, Germany. Wow. Okay. This little bag has been coming in clutch this trip. It’s like a little packable bag. Packs up the size of my fist. But I can So, it’s small in my bag, but I can pull it out and it’s got everything in it that I could ever need. Oh my goodness. Yeah. Now we wait. Okay. This might seem silly, but I wonder if people actually take this uh gondola as like a one-way experience. Like Oh, sorry. Like they take it to work. Like they just like take this gond Oh, we’re going. They take this gondola to work. That would be wildly fascinating. Okay. Here we are on the gondola, guys. Going full swing. [Music] This is beautiful. And it drops you, my understanding is like right in Ryan Park, right? Cuz this is the Ryan River, which is Whoa. Look at the cathedral. Wow. It’s pretty cool down there. I was just in that tower right on the right. The tower on the right. I was just inside of that. That’s insane. Oh my goodness. We are over the water. It’s crazy. Imagine like getting stuck in the gondola right now. Oh, there’s no window knock on. Shoot. We’re going. They’re They’re all excited. They’re classy filming. Crazy. Okay, I got to get a picture cuz this gun is only like 2 minutes ride over. We’re about a quarter of the way through it. Okay, so we’ve we’re about halfway across. I’m going to be going over there to Ryan Park, walking back, and then taking that bridge back to that area. So, that’s the plan. But on the way, there’s a bunch of uh cool little market square areas that I’m going to check out and maybe get a schnitle for lunch. Uh yeah, that’s cool. I just saw Regina on that boat and that’s funny cuz uh that’s a city in the country and I’m from obviously from Canada, guys. Anyways, this is just cool. the beaches. I’ve been seeing on the news lately, there’s been a couple gondilas that have fallen. Luckily, no scary, but like imagine if this gondola just broke right now. That is all I can think about in this moment. But I will walk through Ryan Park and hopefully not fall into Ryan Park and then make my way back over towards the cathedral and I’m staying somewhere over there. So cool. Making my way back over towards the cathedral. And there’s the I’m not even going to try to pronounce it bridge and the cathedral and train going over right on the Ryan River. Beautiful. Look at all the locks across the whole bridge. Wow. Okay, after a long day of wandering around, I’m finally calling it and heading back to my hostel, which is this way. I’m going to walk through this cool tunnel thing simply because I can. And yeah, my last and only full day in Germany and then um tomorrow I’m off to uh the to back to Amsterdam and then flying out the next morning. So, here is the tunnel that I walked through just for because thought you guys should enjoy it as well. And that’s it. A little update for how full my bag is getting. It is crazy full. Like, yeah. Okay, guys. Major time warp here, but um I was exhausted yesterday and ended up just crashing. I was so tired. I did not have it in me to keep going. But I am now leaving my hostel here in Germany. uh headed to the train station to make it back to Amsterdam before I head back to Canada. So, that’s the current plan. Boom. And just like that, we’re walking to the train station and about to leave Germany, which is exciting and sad all at the same time. I really liked it here. I think it would be cool to explore more of Germany sometime, but oh well. All right, my first train is to Fryinfeld at 1231, platform Aussie. This chocolate croissant is really good. Well guys, knowing my luck, I’m now stranded in Molehane waiting cuz there’s more people on the tracks. So, we’ll see how that goes. No idea how long it’ll be till we get going. But at this point, I’ve already missed my next train. So, we’ll figure that out. Just sitting here cuz again, there’s people on the tracks or something. The police are trying to hunt them down. I don’t know what’s going on, but we have to wait for now. Guys, I’m exhausted. They just switched the the platform on me three times. I ran from 2 to 13 or no, from 13 to 2, 2 to 13, and back from 13 to 2. Oh, it’s like the opposite ends of the station. Like that’s only one track over there. There’s so many. But confirmed we found our right track. But I’m really tired with a full bag, full sprint. Oh my goodness. And there’s the train. Hallelujah. I could not be more grateful to see that stupid train right now. Okay, guys. Here’s my last and final hostel of Europe. My all-time one I’m looking forward to the most. Here we go. Let’s check it out. Really quick room tour. You can even see the trains already going by, but I’m on the top bunk. And this is the room. This is insane. I’m not on the bottom bunk, middle bunk, but the top bunk. This place is crazy. It’s a sad day. It’s my last bit of time here in Amsterdam. I got an Albert Hind coffee. Standing here right by Central Station. My last few hours in Amsterdam and I am trying not to get hit by trucks and bikes. But we are headed in this direction to go find some breakfast um one last time at one of my favorite places that I don’t know what it’s called or how to get to, but uh we’ll find it. It’s here somewhere. So, see how it goes. Albert Hind coffee for the win. [Music] I am really going to miss it here. I loved getting to travel around and exploring this city and other cities, other countries. And I’m just going into the train station now and off to Skipel airport. Okay guys, here’s my train off to Skipel airport. The next station is Amsterdam. This will continue to via Chipple airport. Yeah, but Heat. Heat.
