Yes, they are super loud on anything other than snow but that just drowns out my brakes rubbing.
For the Dillinger 4 it seems that 25cm ungroomed is the absolute max and about 15cm is about the amount where you can reliably get up and down steep hills.
Maybe I should have brought my Skis along but it was fun nonetheless.
