Looking for some bombproof 26" wheels for my Marin. I was looking at these but they are always sold out. In general, I want something super durable and with a decent (23 mm+) internal rim width. I don't really want to custom build wheels because that will probably be more than I want to spend.

As someone who’s not particularly a natural at building things, I’ve built several wheels following the guide on Sheldon’s site, and they’ve come out great. If you want bombproof, custom is really the way to go, and doing it yourself makes it feasible especially if you get spokes on eBay.
I build my own wheels, usually buy Mavic rims from the 90s for 40/50€, DT spokes for 50€ and shimano hubs for 40/50€, Solid, period correct, and don’t need to be expensive.

These are pretty tough and budget friendly. These aren’t light. Wheels are hard to find tough, light and budget friendly.
For 26 inch wheels I go with the Cliffhangers or the WEI DM30 Weimanns. I’ve bought from Ebay and Velomine. Although like you mentioned, Velomine has been out for awhile.
Check out sta-tru tr25 custom wheels from bicycle wheel warehouse. Good tubeless solid rims (and not heavy), good prices on their builds
