Unfortunately I live in a city where it rains, a lot. If it doesn't rain hard, it is moist air and it still causes the squeaky brakes.
Only when it is dry do I not have squeaky brakes.
I watched this video about how to fix squeaky mtb brakes and he says if it rains there is no cure.
To be honest I don't care at all about the squeakiness except that it scares people and they think I'm honking at them.

> Are squeaky brakes in the rain inevitable?
Yes, but some pad/rotor combos are worse than others. While I **greatly** prefer sintered pads for most of my riding, I find resin pads are a lot quieter when wet… but they wear out fast and don’t work nearly as well at high speeds when wet.
Yeah its inevitable. Rain contaminates the pads till they dry out. It’s not just disc brakes either, I remember squeaky V-brakes back when I was a kid, but disc brakes are much louder.
I’ve got 3 bikes and weirdly my commuter running cheap tektro hydraulic disc brakes never squeal even in the rain under hard braking. All the others make noises initially until it heats up
The trick is to hit the brakes when going past someone. The noise will make em jump, you’ll laugh, and the day will continue.
