I bought a Pinarello Prince frame that was stripped. I started working on it with sanding paper to get rid of the sanding scratches and this crack on the head tube became apparent. It is all the way through. I don't think banging out those seized headset bearings would do that crack any favors?
I read that aluminum cannot be restored. Fortunately I should be able to return it.

It’s done, return it.
Sorry buddy. That frame is a potential death sentence.
Real bad. We are talking about welding the cracks and heat treating the whole frame again aka done.

Yes.
On a scale of dead to dead, it’s dead.
Yep that’s a death sentence, a return is the way.
Shagged brother.

Technically smoked. Not advisable BUT TOTALLY POSSIBLE to fix/ put off this bike’s death with a stainless ring. Stainless ring maybe 5mm wide with the right, very slightly undersized ID. Heat the ring nice and hot, cool the frame if you can, quickly and carefully hammer the ring on before it cools. When it cools it will shrink and pull that crack right in and hold it there with a press fit. Beware your bb may creak -im yet to do this on a bb. Headtubes are no prob like this.
*Again, not advisable* but im not the cops so do with that what you will
