Yesterday, my friend Lucas and I, after about a year of training, finally did what I dreamed I may one day do all the way back in middle school… finished our first (imperial) Century!

I was on my 2024 Trek Domane AL 5 and he was on his 1972 Schwinn Varsity Sport for Ladies (yes, he is way cooler than I am!) We took US Bike Route 25 (The Great Miami River Trail) from Hamilton, OH, down to Fairfield, and then up to Dayton and back! It's mostly uninterrupted rail-to-trail and towpath (except for a part through Fairfield Township and all of Trenton

We stopped in at the Wright Bros. museum in Dayton as well while we were there. Overall a great, if sometimes cold time.

I know we could be faster, taken fewer breaks, and done the whole thing smarter, but I'm very glad we did it either way! We are both, however, very, very sore right now. A recovery ride is in order very soon.

Here's to many more! Hopefully sprint will allow us to hit the OTET!
