Hi experts 👋🏻

I found a used 2024 Trek Émonda SL6 AXS for sale and I want to know if the price makes sense.

Specs:

Full carbon OCLV 500 frame & fork

SRAM Rival eTap AXS (12-speed electronic)

Bontrager Aeolus Elite 35 carbon wheels

Built-in power meter

Size 52 (I'm 168cm, 74cm inseam)

Very low mileage, looks almost new

Seller’s price:
≈ $2,750 USD
≈ €2,385 EUR

My question:
For this model and the components included, is this price fair?
What would you consider a “good deal” or “killer deal” for this bike?

I’m not racing, just want a fast, modern, long-term bike for road cycling and fitness.

Many thanks.

  1. It’s pretty overpriced considering the market. On paper for what you get, it looks like a great price, but…

You can get a brand-new one for like $3200 USD with shimano 105 di2 12 speed and bontrager elite carbon wheels. Pretty much identical spec as the one on your post, except with shimano di2. I see these on sale all the time as Trek discontinued these in 2024 since they probably weren’t selling as well as their madone. Aero-bikes and all-road bikes are the rage nowadays and climbing bikes, which the emonda has always been categorized as is kinda dying off. I’d rather pay a few extra hundred dollars to get a brand-new bike with a full warranty and you often will get a free service from your shop down the road too, saving you another $100.

There’s one listed locally in my area for $2500 and the guy upgraded the bar and stem into a $600 one-piece bontrager bar and stem combo and the bike has been sitting there for months now…
