I have an older Niner Sir 9 that I still ride a lot. It's a nice ride and great geometry for the XC trails here in Florida. I've had an external 27.2 KS Lev on it for a long time but it'l had gotten really slow to return and isn't easily serviceable so I decided I was just going to replace it.
The frame has routing and cable stops for a front derailleur, which I've never ran on the bike. So I got a wild hair and decided that I was going to use that cable routing for an internal dropper so I didn't have a cable zip tied to my top tube anymore. The problem is that there wasn't a hole for the cable to enter the seat tube. Enter some power tools to hack off the cable stop and cut a slot and a 3D printed TPU cable grommet that matches the OD of the skinny steel tubes.
I'm here to show it off as I think it turned out pretty good.

Way cleaner than I did hahaha
I did the same to my old titanium frame.
I agree, very well done.
Oil that freaking chain while you’re at it!
