Huge love and thanks to @RoyalHospitalChelsea

But we are down in London again for Rouleur Show 2025. This is our third year coming here. Probably one of the best cycling shows
definitely in the UK. And this year’s got even busier. This is day two for us. Already filmed some fantastic content
before you. It was too loud on day
one to get interviews, but the audio is clean for me,
so enjoy our best bits from day one. Let’s go see what day two is going. Still. this brand has just caught my eye. This is DRALI 100 years old. Out of Italy,
they build most of their bikes in Italy. A bit like Maceo
with the wrapped tubing construction. They do that own custom geometry, but
they also do a slightly more hybrid model. So this model behind me. This part here is made in China. Really high quality. We’ve got metal fairing seats here. T47 bottom bracket. Nicely finished frame. But interestingly. They use that copper technology
from their wrapped copper construction. And they make their own chainstays
drop out and then do all of the bonding together. Actually here in Italy. Finish it, paint it, build it into a bike. It’s a really interesting hybrid model. The quality is lovely. Let’s take a closer look. it’s good. It’s like we had them on the channel
recently with a bike in our workshop. Just been speaking to Tom. Hey, he’s got three lovely bikes. Maybe we have the opportunity going down to the factory
and seeing how they’re made. If you’re interested, put it down in the comments to see
if we can get Tom to make that happen. Anyway, a couple of things
that have caught my eye before Sarah finish on this titanium. See, you can actually add color
to titanium bikes. What I really like about the sturdy
is the fact that you can still see just enough of the cross and chip,
you still know it’s really high quality, but at the same time
it’s lovely and smoothed off. A couple of things really caught my eye
with this. Was one. He’s 3D printed, his own Sram red levers. Brilliant. And also I really want to ask about this. This is an Enduro 51. Put a parent in here and he’s made a custom top cap
to make it possible with the envy system. I’ve asked if we can buy some of these beautiful bikes. So very quickly, we’re belly from excess. Very interesting handlebar here. Can you tell us about the design of this? Very short hair. Very long hair. What’s all that about? So we call this part Air Rover
because air rolling over takes our crown off the job. So basically
at the time we were thinking about hey we need a
really really narrow on the front and really wide
and not it really long in the back. So but at the time there’s nobody do it. So it’s like, hey, why we
why would we do it at all. Sort of progressive design.
Absolutely love it. The interesting thing for me
is about the top cap design. This is an isolate front castle work with a specialized SLA
and pretty much everything else. Yes, correct. this is incredible. Oh. Thank you. So this is our do this our,
all chrome design, the 3D printed. Oh. What’s nine grams? Yeah nine grams. So all of these stuff,
these little things are designed for our own and printed our own as well. So yeah. So you can see we we we just like, that design and printed really, really thin. That’s. It’s hard to believe
I’ll even hold a bottle. Yeah,
but actually, let me give you a bottle. Then you can
you can have a try as well. Yeah. So a 700 millimeter bottle is. And that’s going to hold up. I mean. It feels stiff. Feels like it would do it. Wow. Like,
we want to make sure this is not a I would I would say this is a, weight
we anything but, But the first thing first
we want to make sure is stiff is possible. So I don’t want to just do a, only for you, but only for weight wins. And without all the strength. Yeah. So incredible. Incredible.
Well done. Billy. Thank you
so much for sharing your passion. will some day to sweat. Just been catching up with them
and then finally gone to Corbin’s folks. Now talking about why. Because they used attacking you
to evaluate and be 100% sure before they build wells
for the warranty on it. Ship it worldwide. So these new wells had coming in at 1100
grams, they know is slightly higher
weight than most, but I only experience it between about 5 to 10%
as potential loss, which is nothing compared to what we’re seeing from
some of the Chinese brands, isn’t exactly the same. When I was close, it looked like
they built up that ring, reinforced it to give you guys
the more reassurance that durable, robust quality. Also updated 180 Hobbs. Yeah, I’m looking forward
to get my hands on the side of these. It’s about time
we saw some quality, in the Squid Game. Very nice. we have to come to the looks on about the only time of the year we really get to catch up with the guys
from France, from the website. They now have a configurator. And then we really doubling down
on that art of cycling This is our new special edition
based on this motor from 1987. It even got the whole reprint of the whole
1987 catalog, including all their shoes. Incredible. Now, this paint job is hardly
any paint on. It is nearly all raw carbon finished. So you get to see the quality
of the seven, nine, five and then just subtle sort of metallic
paint on it as well. I’ve also got the one that you see
in the team, right in with these rings meant to represent the gardens
that you find in France. I’m not so sure why I’m loving it. They’re already doubling down
when they’re all cycling. Now, one thing to note. These pedals, the blades
Now come a little flashing sections. Such a good idea. Keep it light. Stay visible even on your race bike. Nice. you had to stop at our favorite
made in the UK brand components. This isn’t a new bike. We showed you this from last year right? Now this is the body made for Dan Baker. I’m taking a massive gravel race. Look at all the attention
to detail on all this. He’s also going to want to carry
a Camelbak as well. Like there’s no plan on
getting off the bike for the entire ride. Watch your handlebars. What a great piece of kit. But this is really interesting. Now this isn’t even a real bike. You can’t say on it. You can’t use it. This is 3D printed on plastic. This is purely for wind tunnel testing. Going through the wind tunnel on Monday. This is just their idea of like,
what if we try this? What about this? And I think it’s great that they’ve got the confidence
to bring a complete prototype, this sort of thing you would normally
just find in the boat of a brand that have it on display
that we can look at. So a patrons a really progressive
to see the designs, some interesting stuff
going on with the bottom bracket. And if you see what I’ve been trying
to find some aero games, whether it works, I guess we’ll find out. Maybe next year. Welcome to the Yaga. This is a brand that I was really keen
to see this year. Bringing you something new. The attention
to detail on these bikes is insane. They use stainless steel, 3D
printed stainless steel. Traditionally,
a very hard material to work on in bikes is why they’re so expensive. You don’t see them that often,
but some of the details just ran through. Now this one you can see you back here
was custom made for a customer. They’re receiving that bike tomorrow. This is a copy that loved it so much. Totally blended in with that sort
of aerospace brand and if you like. But the front here is actually painted and so is the back, and it’s just faded
into raw stainless steel. Now, the reason for
that was blowing my mind, because whenever they make this, they have to account for how much material
they’re polishing off. And, an easier way is
to make sure all the wheels are very thin and then paint them rather than allow for
extra thickness and then polish it off. Manufacturing to those sort of tolerances. Also these are all Tig weld.
It’s a 3D printer. They take welded
and then everything just polished off. Absolutely incredible. Now the level of detail they go in for
their customers is also insane. So on the back here, they’ve actually found bullets
from a Spitfire that you could buy apparently on eBay. Who who’d thought I’d actually made those
into little end caps and this little embossed section
here on the seat tube. I mean, if you can imagine it, these guys,
I think you can probably make it. Now, here’s another little tidbit. The polymer scope tip off,
one that we talk about a lot. They got this one custom painted,
but then they went back and then painted in the polymer logo’s
exactly how they wanted it, and even added the grippy texture
on the top, how they did that. I’ve got no idea. I just I love bikes that have this level
of attention to detail, Suite protection. Helmet. This is actually a brand that I used to use back in adventurous and days
because I did. Motorcycle
helmets came from a kayaking snowsports background and obviously mountain
bike and road bike and helmets. This is the first time
I’ve seen that road biking helmet. I do like the design. This is the one
that’s already on the market. Comes with some cool features where you can put your sunglasses to them,
but also they’re designed to create a little event as well
so they don’t steam up. And this one actually has removable vents. Can’t quite work this out because in the summer you kind of
want it to be fast and aero. And in the winter here in the UK, you
just want this to clog up the rain vents. Anyway, this. Is that you? New helmet? this is that trucker to helmet. Now, one of our key
technologies is here on the inside. They’re using different densities of the
polyurethane and the high impact area. So areas that they’ve identified as wear
helmets commonly see that impact. They beefed up
but they’ve saved the weight and the density
and other parts of the helmet. So you get a very light helmet. They still get the five star rating. And all of the safety tech. Actually fits really nicely as well. A lot of a lot of the helmet and, yeah, I can’t wait to see more from this
brand out in Norway. Just coming to the UK. Looks good. compagno
and something interesting to talk about. Obviously the new super raffle groups have
had on the channel before is fantastic. But we were all waiting for a cheaper,
more accessible version of course, or something. Now what a Campagnolo do
they launch an even more expensive version called the ultra with the carbon
chain rings, and saw the semi titanium cassette
and those ceramic bearings, as well as if the bearings
weren’t good enough already. Anyway, the most exciting thing is this is
our first look at the gravel groupset. Not loads of changes. The main unit looks pretty much the same. essentially just changing this cage here. Absolutely gigantic load. Well, there’s not a 1048 cassette. Really really impressive gear ratios. This is our first look at the power meter. Remember the tie up with SRM? Looks pretty smart.
two little charging ports. It’s pretty much all you save. What’s really nice? This is my first look at the camera. The Bora x gravel wheels. This is a sexy piece of kit. We’ve got some of this coming on test day. Turn in the air. Subscribe to find out more.
where are they? I’ve got a box full of flower
arranging foam. Custom saddles is becoming more
and more of a thing, and these guys might have nailed it. Essentially, what you do
is you either go to a bike shop and you get presented with this box,
or you sit on, or you can if you want to. My Lord, this is who comes to your house. You do everything at home,
essentially sits on it and print it. Upload a picture to their servers
and there’s like a 15 question questionnaire to go through that assesses
what type of order you are, what bike you ride, but also some key
mobility tasks to work out. You know, your exact range of movement. And from that,
they then custom map a saddle for you and you get all sorts of saddle
so they can change the width, the length, a point at which it widens,
but also, crucially, the point where the saddle is the stiffest
and its softest. But then, crucially,
how quickly it transitions from stiff to soft,
and at what point that actually happens. So amazing level of customization. They also have different chassis to put it
on, sort of stiffness, all the weight that you’re
trying to achieve as well. Absolutely fascinating product. These guys are promised
they’re going to send us one so we can give you a full review
when we’re not in this really loud, room. Just how interesting. What do you think?
try and sub this video up. I’m here at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea. What a magnificent background. We’re lucky enough to be staying here
with some friends, enjoying the hospitality of the Chelsea
Pensioners. What an amazing place. Just steeped in so much history
and culture and the sense of community here
is just what? It’s incredible. Okay. Back to the show rule. Er this year has been incredible. It’s definitely the best year
we have ever seen. The show was absolutely packed, sold out
and the vibe was really high energy from everyone the exhibitors,
the visitors, the speakers. It was all incredible. The Rouleur Show
this year was definitely its best yet. It was packed out, and it’s probably
the most diverse audience I’ve ever seen. Loads of women that not just visiting,
but also exhibiting and speaking. Thankfully. preparing for and winning,
the tour this year. Absolutely incredible.
So enjoyed that. That talk. So the story of the bikes at roulette this year, there were even more elaborate
paint jobs than ever before. We’re seeing more 3D printing,
more hybrid construction of stuff as well. So we were saying I stainless steel
being 3D printed And there seems to be a lot more effort
to try and bring more and more manufacturing
back into Europe, some in a hybrid model, some of them doing it completely properly, and now actually manufacturing
their entire monocoque in Portugal. It’s absolutely incredible that that
sort of process is starting to happen. There are loads of whale brands
now showing, you know, Western brands using carbon spokes. That’s been the domain of the Chinese
for a while, using those for now as spokes that have been on the market
for a little while. But it’s taken the Western brands time. And now we’re starting to understand why,
because they have to go through that testing process. They were almost, thanking the Chinese for being their beta testers,
for solving all of those problems. And that’s now their point
where they’re happy to bring it to market and back it up with all of the
the Western accountability for all the laws that are in place
in all our various countries across Europe and the United States. another key observation
that most of the brands taking the show really seriously,
they had brought their top staff, their CEOs, their sales directors
were there, they wanted to come to London, and they wanted to see the riders
in London, and talk about their product to this fantastic,
really lively, engaged audience. And that was really good because for us, we really got to speak to,
you know, the top guys in these brands. They really got to experience, like the actual riders at the show
and what they were asking for. Such a good opportunity. And so many of you came over to us
just to say hello, some of you to say thank you for the videos.
I’ve learned so much stuff. Some of you are asking questions about
putting your own build project together and asking us whether that was compatible,
or what was our opinion on a certain brand
that you were considering. And that was really nice
just to come and meet some of you face to face and just,
get your feedback. So thank you so much.
If you came across and said hello. there’s no doubt that the Royal Air Show represents the very sharp
end of the road and gravel industry. I heard someone there describe it
as the luxury leisure, and that’s okay. I think everyone there was just there for a great time
enjoying bikes at the highest level. Whether you buy it or not.
It’s just great to see these machines. It reminded me
as a kid of going to the motor show and just admiring the Ferraris
and the Lamborghinis. It’s just fun to see
what humans can actually create and manufacture,
whether you can purchase them or not. It’s just amazing that these things
are being dreamt up and made and ridden. And then finally, if you’re wondering
why I got so into the handlebars and some of the stands,
check out this video. Next is a whole deep dive into the whole
headset and handlebar compatibility. I think you’ll enjoy this video. Next,
go check out. Till next time,
take it easy and thanks for watching.

  1. You should watch GCN Ollie's coverage they posted yesterday. Funny as hell. Thanks for covering this Mapdec, we love your channel and your sensibilities. I ordered the new Look Keo Vision pedals a few days back out of Spain (not available here locally yet)… now the wait.

  2. Nice overview. Love the more opportunities to customise that are coming through. The Jaegher bikes were mad – love it! Also the Poseda saddle is impressive. My bike filter persuaded me to open my wallet and boy am I pleased. Great saddle that just suits me like no other before ever has. Must visit next year.

  3. Thanks again Paul, would have liked to go myself but it didn’t work out. So great to see a few things there from your video. Really like the idea of the custom made 3D printed saddles from Posedia. Think I’ll look into that as long as they are sensibly priced.

  4. There were some really great brands and interesting products there this year. I loved the Independent Bike Builders section and developed a real soft spot for Ricky Feather’s Wkndr brand, especially the HSG gravel bike

  5. Thanks for posting, great content. The Jaegher looks amazing, that is one lucky person to have it in that paint design. Nice bars as well.

  6. Nice to say Hello to you Yesterday afternoon while you where having a coffee, I thought the show was excellent ,liked the entrance with those lovely race winning bikes and the Giro De Italia Trophy , just set the show up, The problem with these shows is you end up with Bike Blindness having looked at all those super bikes and i still can,t choose a Fav. Ps the weather was flipping dreadful especially as i walked from St Pancras station and walked back again , not a fan of the underground . !!!!!!

  7. Starting to feel like metal is gearing up for a renessaince in frame construction. Between the gorgeous Jaegher shown here and the No. 22 3d printed aero frame – might we see more frames with modern features utilize metal/alloy at the high end?

  8. As a machinist of 39 years I am wary of 3d printed parts. As a technology that’s in its infancy no one knows the longevity of said parts, plus possible contamination and moisture between the additive layers. We may find massive failures in 5 years plus, just be aware it’s not the end all, be all of manufacturing

  9. Thank you so much for having an opportunity to cover us on your video, Mapdec!
I'm Billy from EXS Cycling, to be honest I was really really nervous at the time, if I said to many like… and suddenly studded because of my nervousness, I do apologize.
Also, thank you so much for all the kind words from that lovely lady!

  10. DT Swiss finally makes a new wheel with carbon spokes and you are impressed? 20mm internal?28mm external? designed for 26mm front tire? who needs or buying that wheel???reliability and quality? they did it right by adding material to the rim??? have you forgotten the massive recall they have going on Worldwide????? for not having enough material in the rim, for breaking and falling apart , i like your channel but every now and then you must stop for 1 second before being so generous with accolades for the sake of pleasing brands and in detriment of your viewers and consumers. I recall few months ago you inspected the Elite wheels inside/out and found them to be excellent, so no, the existing carbon fiber spokes wheels do not need saving from DT Swiss or can learn anything from a company that is 3 years too late to the game.DT Swiss should make and sell hubs, they have not made one competent wheel in 5 years. Welcome your thoughts
