I’ve just moved to a small town in France. Here’s a glimpse of my new life in Uzess, a town that kind of feels like a movie set. [Music] [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] [Music] [Music] That’s [Music] [Music] Oh, she’s come out of her pot. [Music] [Music] Currently on the search for trash can because there’s not a trash can in our building And the owner’s sister told me that it’s on some street around here, but I’ve not been able to find it. So, here I am just walking through the streets of beautiful Jesus with trash. I found them. All right. Okay. Just in this random intersection over here. While I still have my rental car, I’m doing a pit stop at IKEA because I definitely need some things for the apartment. I’ll need to drop my car back off at the car rental and then find a way to the bus to take the bus back to us. Here we go. Success. Now I get to carry this all the way back on the bus. But it’ll be worth it to be able to set up my kitchen, put my food away, put my spices away. There’s just not enough space for that. So this thing is a bit heavy. But Sabah, we’ll make it. [Music] I didn’t really think through this part since it’s a 15-minute walk into town. Maybe [Music] No heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] I decided to take a guided tour of the town with the tourist office to learn more about its history. This is the medieval Chateau Duzess, once the home of the powerful Duke of Duzess, a ranking just below royalty. The guide had a habit of speaking with her back towards us. It was hard for me to understand everything since the tour was in French and she spoke softly, so I always tried to get closer to the guide to hear her, but somehow I always ended up with a back in my face. Even in this church, she chose to block the one pew I was in with her back to me. Oh well, I learned a few things and we got to go inside some courtyards and staircases that are normally closed to the public. Even with a few language barriers and some backto-back encounters, I’m still glad I took the tour. I look forward to discovering even more about this charming town. In the next video, my friend is coming to visit and we’re hitting the road for some day trips around Provence. From quaint towns to breathtaking sites and a fun festival, you won’t want to miss it. See you then. [Music]

Loved the calm, laid back vibe of this little town. ❤❤❤
c'est marrant je vois que tu vis dans ma région , je suis de Nîmes n'hésite pas à visiter la ville elle est surnommé la Rome française
While it looks interesting … it reinforces that for me Texas is perfect. Abundance of everything and ease of driving anywhere. Backyard poolside is hard to improve on.
I don’t know why it’s disappointing to see ikea in France. Lol
Used to live in Uzes moved to Brittany to hot for me down in the south mind you i lived there for 12 years 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
American playwright David here. I hope you have gotten to know Tom, the American owner of the cafe you're sitting in, because he is a cool, gregarious guy.
You must have money to be able to live in France .
How do you make money to support yourself ?
Bisous !
I loved the idea of having a preview of the next video 🔥
Always wanted to do what you sre doing at your age. Bravo for you. Now in my 70s I can enjoy it vicariously thru your channel. Nice mix of commentary and music.
❤thank you for the video. Are people nice to you there/ friendly? Would love to move there some day! ❤
Been in France since December, dollar is very weak. Other than that, it's lovely here.

Hi Luv…I found how spoilt one gets to become in one's own country…I cook a lot and to walk kilometres just to throw Ma trash away, I find that a bit of a chore. Especially with that beautiful, beautiful garden market U have there. Hah. Maybe it would be worth walking miles and miles just to throw one's trash away…🤣…
I was in your area a week ago, driving around and exploring, thinking about where we might live. Loved Avignon, but DANG was it hot.
The guide was probably upset that you were filming her. Music is too loud and oh so much like every other video on living abroad. Be original.
VERY superficial – xenophobia & racism are OFF THE CHARTS in most of France – as is CORRUPTION – universal.
Domestic & public violence are at all-time highs: France is being hammered with the effects of Global Warming.
Fleeing Amerika is perhaps wise – but get EDUCATED first – do NOT rely on such grossly naïve Middle-Upper Class ignorance.
Ghana is rated by the UN as safer & less racist than France. China is a decade ahead the rest of the planet – in ALL domains.
Can you speak French or do most speak English at the shops?
That is not the way you pronounce the name of that town. I kind of can't believe that folks move to places where they can't talk to anyone. In that case it is just a spectacle for you to watch. That's not living.
I love your content. It’s entertaining and interesting without the common flashiness. How do you deal with loneliness?
Not far from Uzès. Have a look at the Musée 1900 in Apaillargues. I live in Luxembourg, but my mother's house is 30 minutes from Uzès. 😉
Jadore voir ce genre de video ca me remet en perspective a quel point la france est belle
I didn't know this little town, this is really lovely.
So nice of you to share with us your expérience in here.
what is your job now in france? How do you get money to live there
Thanks, Julie. Love it. Tell me about how switching from an English to a French environment is going. In other words, how easy is it for you to communicate in French?
Are there any rental properties? Apartments?
Ca a l'air marrant votre voyage
UZES ? les bonbons HARIBO !!
Maybe pause to show what your final results are ? when you’re filming, you show something but don’t show the result…happens often… nice to see your journey
Came from CNN's travel and Beyond. Quite an Interesting Story. I'm Sat . Love you content.
Hi Julie, will you be doing any more Parisian Food Affair ?
It’s good to see you’re still an X-Pat in France !!
Oh my God don't come to here to bring your American attitude we don't f… Need it here
