I came across a good deal on new tubeless compatible wheels for my wife's bike. Her original wheels have 100mm from hubs 142 mm hubs with 5 mm quick release skewers. The wheels I bought have hubs that take 12mm through axles. I could not find 12mm axles that will take the 5mm skewers. I am just wondering if these 12 mm quick release axles I bought will be compatible with the wheels in there of matching with the existing frame/fork that are made for the 5mm quick release.

No, because 12mm is 7mm larger than 5mm
You’re stuck with 9mm quick release on this bike.
Short answer, no.
What wheelset and which hubs? If you’re lucky, the hubs may be able to be converted to accept QR skewers through different end caps.
Figure out what hubs the wheels came with and see if they sell conversion end caps to the size you need.
