Yeah that’s a good deal. Open is refreshing all their frames (to UDH, among other things), so I assume this is clearance of inventory.

A little dated, but still a damn good deal. I think the updated frame has UDH, internal cable routing, and more tire clearance but you probably aren’t missing too much else. I nearly paid full price for one of these frames only two summers ago. I would say the tire clearance is the biggest give relative to newer frames.

Last time I looked, they had a complete with campag ekar in a few sizes for 2k. That’s an even better deal.
You could take off the ekar and sell it on eBay and you’d probably come out ahead.

Depending on how much tire clearance you want, there is no better deal right now than the discounts on TIME ADHX frames. 38mm clearance. Lots of people spec for gravel, can just as easily be an endurance road bike though. $1499 for arguably the best built carbon frame you can buy. They are clearing out existing inventory because SRAM purchased TIME and is moving the production to the US.
Id go Ti if its for gravel. Lynskey has sales constantly.

The original Open U.P is a great bike but at this point it’s really dated. Tire clearance is very limited compared to where gravel bikes are now, you might get 40mm WAM at best for 700c wheels.
