That pump pulled out several stems on me over the years. Transitioned to a clamp-style nozzle rather than screw-on.

  2. I do a full size Bic with electrical, athletic (3/4inch), and Gorilla Tape (1 inch). Bic’s are cheap and tape can get gooey.

  3. If youre going with such a big kit – tubeless + sealant and tubes + patches – it looks like youre going on a big, possibly remote trip. Would you consider a spare derailleur and hanger? Wished I had one recently!

Id trade the knife for a multitool. Having pliers/file/scissors can be useful

  4. Also… ditch the multi-tool and get all the L’s you need or small philips’. Learned this on Bikepacking.com. Multi-tools suck for serious repairs. You want L’s.

Pump is mounted to frame as are CO2 via triathlon style mount. 1oz sealant bottles and plug kit (dynaplug) are fast access in pockets on my snack/bottle pouches. Extra cables snaked through my handlebars and extra spokes in frame bag.

  5. Might worth it to switch the inner tube you have to a TPU one (or two), would save you a lot of weight and space.

  6. I’d ditch that large pump for a smaller Lezyne or Wolf Tooth model, personally. Same with the duplicate tire levers – I’d carry only the Wolf Tooth Pack Pliers. I’m assuming that you’re running tubeless due to the sealant, so I’d ditch the patches and glue. I’d also swap the traditional tube for a smaller TPU tube or even 2 of them, but I’ve been lucky enough avoiding flats that I’ll willing to take that chance. I’d probably also carry only 2 of the zip ties. Then I’d add a couple of nitrile gloves in, potentially use them to wrap the tubes.

  7. Brake pads, and especially the spring. Tiny pliers/leatherman. Couple links of chain and more quick links.

Ditch the CO2 with such a good pump.

But really the question is: what for and what are your goals?

  8. Derailleur hanger, length of chain (couple links), SPD cleat screw, spare valve stem, chain lube, latex gloves, needle, floss (thread), brake pads

  9. A cotton ball to run around the inside of the tire to find wire that keeps flatting the tube. The white cotton threads get caught on the protrusion.

    1. +1 on the derailleur hanger.
    2. A chain tool and a piece of hanger wire to hold the chain if you need to hold it while working the quick link.
    3. Spare cleats and cleat screws if riding clipless.

    Don’t ask how I know about #3.

  11. I’m not seeking zip ties.

I do not use the pump. I use a rechargeable tire inflator that is also big ass battery incase my phone battery craps out.

  12. I would change butyl tube to one or two TPU tubes and I’m questioning inclusion of sealanti. I would change it to swab of cotton for finding last thorns and TPU repair kit with proper glue – less total weight and volume. I’m not sure in what scenario I would need to refill and still be able to do those roadside repairs.

That’s a crazy amount of bacon strips. Is this for “EDC” or an extended/remote trip/tour? I’d say it’s really heavy for everyday riding. If for an extended remote trip add: extra spokes, nuts bolts, and 1 ea. shifter & brake cables + tools.
