  1. She probably just means you should buy another bike with a little more suspension so the ride is more plush.

  2. This is pretty average riding my guy, you chicken lined half of this. Not quite the flex you think it is. 50 is just a number. I have a buddy at 62 hitting way bigger stuff.

Time to buy an eMTB 180/165 and fill your down days with uphill flow/outdoor trainer.

Edit: it gets serious over 50. How many fair weather weekends do you have left? It’s like my wife says, “you don’t want to be on your death bed wishing you had more sex” (or mtb’ing).

  4. 52 next week. I’m with the other person on here… Sounds like justification for another bike.

  5. Mine said the same at 50, then she went over the bars and snapped her humerous (it’s not) and I went otb at 52 and smashed a collar bone with concussion and a destroyed helmet.
Looking back she may have had a point, needless to say things are taken a little bit easier now.

Wow, you are an inspiration. I dont have to worry when i turn 40 because you can still rock it at 50.

    Happy birthday!

It’s not like you’re doing the Red Bull rampage! Gotta keep swimming or else we sink!

  8. Hell ya! Me and the old man shred like this and he’s 59. It takes a little longer for him to get back to 100% after the winter but we always get locked in.

On her…take it easy on her. You keep running fast and moving through life like you are meant too.

  10. My buddy got a talking to from his mom after a recent crash. He still parrots her when we’re out on rides, but he has chilled on his KOM attempts.
In your case, this means you need to spend more money on top notch tires and maintain your suspension or possibly custom tune it. Need to take care of the bike so it can take care of you.
    Never stop riding.

  11. 57 year old woman here. Take it easy? So you can sit around and get diabeetus? Or play pickle ball?

Don’t listen to your wife for advice. They give the worst advice in the world! Keep staying young. That’s the only thing that’s fun, and brings you joy and keeps you wanting to live.

Yes, you should take it easy… until you turn 50. I’m 54 and riding stuff I would not have in my 20s. Of course, I wouldn’t ride this stuff today with my 1990s bike either. 🤣

  14. Keep riding as hard as you want for as long as you can, if that’s what makes you happy. I’m 46 and got into MTB in 2016 after seeing a Whistler video on YouTube. I didn’t even know bike parks existed, but it looked like so much fun and I wanted in … Long story short, I started getting into DH a few years later, and me and my son ride bike parks 30-40 days a year (zero fear, he’s WAY better than me). There’s nothing I like more, makes me feel like a kid again, and I’ll keep doing it for as long as I can. One day we won’t be able to, and I don’t wanna live with any regrets.
