People accuse me of living in the Shire and use clips of my extremely rural commutes to and from a canal boat as evidence. So, they’re definitely not prepared to see me pass through a village like this where there’s medieval castle ruins at the roadside as part of an everyday normal commute as if it’s the most average thing in the world. This is amazing.

You may not live in the Shire, but some of your photos really are magical! 🙂 (And yes, I wish that my commute passed by a castle ruin!)
Whittington Castle, not far from the
Pen Rhos arms.
I went on a school trip to that castle
I met my now wife at Whittington Castle 13 years ago doing "Ghost tours" where we as 12 year olds acted as Ghosts during October.
Every castle and lots of ancient monuments, from Stone Henge, Avebury stone circles and Hadrian's wall have all been plundered for their stones to build walls and houses. There's people doing it to this day. It was only yesterday mentioned on the local news a man was arrested stealing stones from walls in Lancashire. They recovered most of the stone it said. Church York flags are also regularly stolen. We never change our ways.
Great filming Dan. Was that a go pro on your chest?
Time you got a 360. Insta now do replaceable lenses.
Jerry Rig Everything loves his!
🤠👍🙏❤️🛳️🌈🇬🇧🌎
Somewhere in Wales?
The ruins of my families castle are not so grand.. destroying Scotland was not good enough for the English, they made sure to trash it's history as well..
How are you so joyous
I live in Canada, things we consider old here is pretty much anything over 150 years. It must be pretty cool going past real history like that. To know your living in the same place that was also lived in hundreds or thousands of years ago is such a cool idea to me.
What camera are you using and how did you mount it in this video? It's a great bit of footage!
I too live in the Shire 😂
Just love all the history around us.
Omg I think I live near you!!!
I love your excitement about these videos lol
