Title says it all. I’ve been riding on a Trek Liquid full suspension bike for something like 19 years and decided to replace it this year. Needless to say, the new bike (Trek EX7 Gen6) has been transformational to say the least. At the ripe age of 56, I’m taking on (carefully!) drops and jumps. Weight loss is 30lbs and counting, from a rather portly 260 lbs. My brother also picked up a new bike this year, a full suspension Stump Jumper and has been completely stoked riding it. We both picked up fat bikes this fall and are intending to bike right through the winter. It’s getting close as last night’s ride caused our water bottles to freeze up!
I’ve picked up a GoPro 9 last week and realised, like the bike, that the new cameras with HyperSmooth are pretty slick. I dusted off my older versions of Premiere Pro and After Affects for stabilising the follow cam (GoPro 4 shots) but ended using CapCut to edit the clip. For free software, CapCut is very, very impressive.
The video features footage from three local trails, “Scary Canary”, “Magma Day”, and “Blaster” in Shunia Mines, Thunder Bay. Massive props to the Black Sheep Mountain Bike Club for building and maintaining these trails. The video stars Cocoa. She’s 100lbs of truly awesome trail dog. Cocoa is a rescue from a fly-in reserve from up north.
Enjoy!
