the problem is that when you get a bike that has long reach and low stack and suddenly the controls can begin to feel very far away now that really comes to the four when you feel like you’re being pulled forward as you go down steeper terrain and I know you might be thinking well there’s a very simple and easy fix to this right we can just run a long steerer and maybe a flatter bar this is going to bring both our reach and stack to potentially where we want it now this might really fit us very very well and as the person that’s got to ride the bloody bike that shouldn’t be understated

Not a fan of flat bars.
Absolutely boring video. You should do less shorts
Look at you just bumbling down the trail.
Wtf are you nannering on about
It would be nice to finish the video
I'm not sure why this couldn't be said in the video, but it's really simple:
Make the reach smaller by higher stack, shorter stem (which also makes your long, pulling, bike easier to steer), and because I'm taller a rise bar at least 35mm (usually 50 or more with max spacers). Even if you're not too tall, get a 35mm rise and angle it back slightly. Makes reach shorter and angles the bars for downhill if you do it right. Flat bars work, but they sacrifice a lot when it comes to front control imho
Dude is annoying!
Stop making shorts Henry you are boring as hell
What a knobhead
I was fitting the wifes bike, she hated the flat wide bar, so I changed it to a narrower bar with more rise and she has a better riding position since shes not going to be doing a lot of downhill 😂 most bars are too wide anyways
Hell yeah. Running a Cannondale M900 with no cut on the stack, helped it to make the bike a great fit (surley moloko bars)
Leave the shorts to the professionals mate
This guy isn’t a professional rider so why is he making videos trying to teach others
Wtf is this guy on about? What is the point of this video? Guy really loves hearing his own fucking voice
s
what on earth are you wearing
Shorter stem and 75mm riser bars can also do the trick
is this channel new or smth? they dont seem to know nothing abt either bikes or content creation
I like his shorts. Don't mind his background so y'all should get lost
Interesting point. I've been thinking of such a tweak on my humongous giant reign. The bike thrives on fast, rough stuff when I put my body weight forward, which is why I tend to run a low front. (Also because running it too high on the steerer tends to cause grip issues in the front). It also tends to feel planted and unpoppy on the jumps and with manuals. I thought of doing the opposite of what you described and run a higher bar lower on the steerer 🤔
Or you could just get the right size bike….
Interesting choice of MTB clothing
I change stem for very short – 35mm from 45, but it doesnt change so much Reach, but i change from Rockshox 35 150mm to Rockshox Domain 170mm and make mullet in front give 29" wheel where in rear is 27.5"
Thats change my reach from 460 to 423.
That MTB clothing is sick. Which brand?
Nice one, Saltburn😮
Only Henry can translate the scientific data into plain understandable English for us humans, Good job Henry!
If only riding jeans weren’t so expensive
It seems like the technology is always changing.
Dennin Dan
Long steerer and a flatter bar, what exactly is the point of that.
bike geeks are so ignorant and arrogant at the same time, geometrics of handlebar were figured out pretty much about 40 years go by maico in motocrossbikes… Stop looking your toes
same as a riser bar right?
How do i stop getting Pinbike suggested so I can watch some real bike community content. boooh
The Canadian tux is out 👌
Thanks Denim Dan
I hate clips
nono.. low stack and then get urself some nice bars with loads of rise. bmx style. its the best.
Commencal sucks and so does pinkbike. The editors can barely ride themselves. And Henry is a dweeb
The problem is when looping a short before anything has really been said
His videos starts with a problem and always ends with questions…
So…… Banshee has had it right and everyone what is just a copycat
Why flatter bar? A high rise bar should be the solution
what is this slop
