Hiking in Madeira, Portugal isn’t for everyone. This path between Ponta do Sol and the Cascata dos Anjos was super sketchy, with no hand rails or nets, just a slippy gravel path carved into the cliffside. The waterfall in the road at the end was definitely worth visiting, I’m just glad everyone made it there.

NEEDS BE SAID
My advice for people when going hiking in Madeira: take the right equipment plus clothing, waterproof jacket and hiking shoes and head lights plus hiking poles and a rucksack with food and water . And people shouldn't ever take any under age children or even small babies in their backs since there are tunnels with narrow passages and there isn't any space for any pushchairs or even coats or even plus dogs in the leads and let them lose running over the place since the levadas are narrow and near cliffs and edges and can cause accidents leave the dogs at home. . And people shouldn't go with sandals, flip flops, trainers or even high heels . Madeira hiking isn't for the faint heart, it is very demanding and challenging and it is constant near cliffs and edges and narrow passages with slippery and wet plus long tunnels with narrow passages and low . And when hiking pay attention to the terrain and don't go taking selfies over the place near from cliffs and edges ending up having accidents. And if you never did any demanding and challenging hiking like 15 , 16, 18 k in your live my advice do something small that you can handle
What is the name of this hike?
No way.
Only a very short stretch is like that
I'm from Madeira Island, I've seen a lot of news about people falling on this route, so if one day someone wants to walk this route, I highly recommend using suitable equipment
Nope.
Yeah… no thanks😅
Wow 😳
Is this pr1?
in the waterfall in the video, someone died from being crushed by a rock.
Then you hear people disappearing and found after months by the locals because of the strong smell 😅. If you wanna do this extreme route, go with a professional tour agency, not with online amator guides. It’s cheap and I think your life worths more than taking stupid online advices. All the best and stay safe!
O meu conselho é nunca parar numa cascata no meio da estrada com um penhasco de 200m, isto também inclui a do Seixal, aquilo vem das plantações
Uhhh… no.
Looks awesome, but we found so many trails on the island that were even more mind blowing!!
Wrong kit!
Mad people. Please, don't imitate them.
Wow!! Well done!! Magnificent👏🙋♀️❤️
Which trail is this one?
Now, I understand why in Portugal almost every year we read the news about some tourist falling and dying in Madeira.
Damm….no tks.
As other commenters have noted, this is very dangerous. Have one friend who is now quadriplegic and another paraplegic. People assume that if the trail is open, it must be safe. It's not. Everywhere in Madeira is dangerous. One of the major advertisers on the foreigners news blog is a funeral home. Shipping the bodies of careless foreigners home is big business here. Be smarter! Everything here is about 10X less dangerous than it is. If it looks remotely dangerous, go the other way. As the Chinese dissident Ma Jian said, "danger is not exciting, it's just a sign of your incompetence."
