Hi.
Ride a Specialised Kenevo fatty.
Couple months back the derailleur snapped. Probably from a bump.

Replaced and within a week the new one snapped.

Have purchased a replacement this week, fitted today. Went out for an hour and whilst going up a muddy incline the new one has snapped.

It hasnt had a bump most definetley. Am I doing something wrong or could it be a manufacturing issue?

Ive ridden bikes for 20years and never had an issue before.

New derailleur was fitted by a well reputed bike mechanic.

Ill add a few pics if that helps.

My best guess is they didn’t check the hanger alignment and it shifted into the spokes while climbing the hill

  2. In general, try not to shift while exerting maximum torque, such as while climbing. It’s not that you can’t shift on inclines, but try to lower the force until the shift is complete.
