I picked up this 1992 Scott Peak for 20€
I want to put drop bars and 1×11 groupset with fast rolling tires
To me, it’s peak 90s design, but the paint is in rough shape, the orange is fading to white and the stickers are damaged.
I’m not sure if I should strip it down to bare polished steel or keep it as is, because I really love the original graphics.
What do you guys think ?

Keep the paint. Just clear coat over it.
I love seeing old frames with history built with new parts.
Keep the original paint. Sure, bare metal is a nice look but it has nowhere near as much character as the current finish.
I really like the paintjob, and imo its absolutely fine if it shows its age.
I love repainting old frames, but I don’t think I do that on this if I had it, the colors and graphics are awesome. Nice find though!
