  1. You’re putting a lot on the outside of the rollers which isn’t needed. 1 drop per link slowly. I don’t have the patience for that so I backspin the chain and just squeeze the bottle until the rollers are covered. I do the same paper towel (but 3 sheet, folded length-wise) to catch the whole drivetrain.

  2. I personally put my super secret in a super soaker 3000 and spray my chain and drive train. Towel dry and then ring the towels out back into the bottle. I find this strategy uses just as much chain wax as you probably use with this method.

Would love to know why you think this method is economical compared to one drop per link as recommended by Silca.

  4. Filter the remaining chain cleaner fluid as you pour it back into the bottle. Do this by putting a plastic funnel in the chain strupper bottle bottle and placing a paper coffee filter in the funnel. Then pour the used chain cleaner fluid back into the bottle

  5. You are using tool for chain cleaning as a very messy and over complicated method of applying wax.

Just give a drop on each link, spin, towel the excess.
You are losing any savings by residue inside the chain cleaning tool.
