Based off recommendations was looking at a new giant contend. Considering the similar price points is this a better pick-up? Maybe getting in over my head as someone new to this. Thanks for any insight

Unfortunately I don’t think so. This is about as aggressive as race bike geometry gets. It is actually a time trial frame that someone has put drop bars on. And it is slammed, meaning that there is no room for adjustment in terms of fit.
I would recommend something a little more upright and with plenty of room on the steer tube so you can hone in your fit.
Yeah extremely agressive and looks like many proprietary parts aswell
