unpopular opinion but if you’re headed to Croatia skip debruvnik over the past year prices have gone up an insane amount when we visited in August last year we were able to enjoy Old Town mostly to ourselves with reasonable prices but this year when we went in May it was impossible to get around and it was kind of expensive if you’re looking for a similar experience with less crowds and more affordable go over to Montenegro and check out Kotor instead

  1. Never skip Dubrovnik. Just look for a good time to travel. Definitely that's not going to be during summer. But Kotor is not even hals as beautiful as Dubrovnik is, not a good alternative.

  2. Yeah… I saw a lot of Instagram influencers like yourself in Dubrovnik making videos trying to look like success world travelers… Só que não, hopefully I have 45 years of traveling experience and I think I "experts" like yourself are hilarious

  3. you’re wildly wrong – this city is incredible and you can come at a fraction of the cost and spend a fraction of what you might anywhere else in europe

  4. Dubrovnik has always been crowded, even 35 years ago. In summer, of course. It is best to go there in colder months…

  5. While Dubrovnik looks authentic like it didn't change from when it was built, Kotor doesn't. Dubrovnik is just beautifully charming in its own way, the same with Venice. Those two cities are a MUST-VISIT on the adriatic and you shouldn't skip either of them just because of the crowds or prices. Just don't go during summer.

  6. To anyone who says skip Dubrovnik, she has a point.
Game Of Thrones fans come here, hiking up prices for regular people. This is common for tourist towns.
I know it since I come from one.
But, if you know someone from Dubrovnik to show you non-tourist trap locations, it can be a worth while trip.

  7. A touristic place becoming pricey, the solution is to skip it. Yeah sure, then don't do tourism anywhere and stay at home. I wish I'd skipped this video.

  8. Come to Croatia and not visit Dubrovnik is just crazy.

I am from Dubrovnik and let me tell you prices are not so different last and this year.

Yes it is expensive city but bit outside of centar is reasonable.

City offers you alot + one thing that is lost in many coutries SAFETY !!!

Recomened is to come mid of september or october. ( less prizes and less crowed )

  9. Nah I just visited both Kotor and Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik is much more beautiful and taken care off!! Don’t get me wrong, Kotor is also nice but price wise? Similar prices plus you have to pay a whopping 15 euros if you want to climb up to the fortress to get there and there is garbage everywhere, not even a toilette to use!

  10. Finally someone get me! We have very unpopular opinion, but people need time to duscover Kotor bay treasures. It's better like thus while its not completely distroied by turists

  11. Now imagine going to school every day, practically in the center of the old town, having to deal with billions and billions of tourists walking around.

  12. I wouldn’t skip Dubrovnik, but I’d find a b & b or something more affordable than the hotels by the sea. Dubrovnik is stunningly beautiful – and you don’t want to not go there – at least once
