Wanted to build up another drop bar bike, this time with a little suspension to take on my local singletrack/rougher gravel and this is what I threw together. Used a combination of various bikepocolypse sales, parts I had sitting around, and a $200 frame from 2017.
Rides pretty dang smooth. Feels a lot like the Salsa Journeyer I used to have, but with more comfort from the fork.
Compared to the ShockStop stem I have on my other gravel bike this suspension fork is significantly more plush and it’s not even close.
Other parts are SRAM Rival AXS XPLR derailleur, 11-46t cassette, Rival AXS shifters, EliteWheels 50mm wheelset, and 45mm Maxxis Rambler tires.

Every week there is another cheap Trek Marlin on marketplace in a cool color. I have been having the same thoughts.
Looks cool! What size chainring did you fit on there?
Wheel and sprocket special? I built one those up too, more of a monster gravel build tho.
