The price seems awesome comapred to many other brands, it has everything i need just a few concerns
Will the mineral oil be the sane as shimano mineral oil?

Will this be fine for home use without breaking?

What is the difference between this and the traditional shimano set, jagwire set?

On the second photo the tube doesnt have anything to clamp onto the bleed valve (forgot what its called) compared to the shimano one where it has this thing inside the tube will it slip off?

yeah it’ll work fine. Some people say to use Shimano branded mineral oil brake fluid but tbh it doesn’t really matter as long as the generic stuff is the same red color. I’ve been using generic red brake fluid in my shimano brakes for years with no issues. Regarding the second photo and the bleed valve/port the clear hose just slips into the bleed valve and is held on by friction. You’ll see that it’s a little difficult to get the clear hose to go on it when bleed your brakes and that because the hose is a tad bit small then the bleed valve so that the hose doesn’t fall off when bleeding.

If you have Shimano brakes, than this is overkill. Oil is ok for sure. Actually you can easily use Total LHM hydraulic fluid for citroen cars which costs like 10 euros per litre.

Once we went to some croatian island for a new year and our friend didn’t have enough oil in Shimano brakes – old ones with moto style reservoir. Wer just topped them with olive oil. You can also find videos how people are riding Shimano brakes with baby oil. 🙂

As far as the mineral oil goes I’d say your best bet would be to flush the system completely. Some mineral oils don’t play well together. But if you flush out the old Shimano oil you don’t have to worry. The generic stuff will be fine

  4. Holy shit. Super overkill unless you’re bleeding every type of brake. My home bleed kit is a generic cheap syringe, a tube, and a reservoir cup and cost me like $11. I only bleed Shimano MTB brakes so I don’t need all sorts of adapters and stuff. I rarely ever do a full bleed, usually I just use the cup.

  5. for what brakes?

for shimano only upper funnel and some container/cup for old oil + hose is needed.

and mineral oil of course 😉

  6. looks good. if it has a bunch of attachments it will work fine. i use an ezmtb kit for ages. bought a second one for double bleeding on non shimano brakes. btw chinese brakes are cheap and dint squeel after rain or letting the bike stand for months.

  7. I just did a new sram bike build and used emtb stuff from AliExpress. It did the job wonderfully and this borgen stuff looks like the upgraded version of my kit with the premium syringes with metal rods. My syringes were the basic ones with plastic push tubes instead of metal rods. Worked perfectly fine.

I’m sure your set will work great as long as the kit comes with mineral oil should be fine. Me personally if I was using Shimano I’d use their own branded oil but that’s just me. Seems others have used generic mineral oils with no problem so probably fine.

Shimano fluid is so cheap, why roll the dice. I would never use anything but Shimano fluid on a customers Shimano brakes. What you do on your own bike is your choice. No reputable shop would ever use generic mineral oil for safety/liability reasons. I don’t recommend listening to the people who say it’s fine, because you are rolling the dice when OEM fluid is guaranteed to work optimally and not damage brakes.
Those syringes actually look pretty good. If you insist at least use generic fluid from a major bike brand

Quality of bleed kit does not matter a whole lot with Shimano because once you fill the system first time. You just gravity bleed modern Shimano brakes. It’s 99% proper setup, technique, and patience. Kit does not matter much. I use both park and Shimano kits at work but I’ve done it at home with a $5 Ali express kit (using genuine Shimano fluid)

It’s not like DOT where you need the syringe to hold a vacuum.

Ymmv with the bleed blocks. It’s actually worth getting the Shimano bleed kit for the bleed blocks. I prefer the Shimano cups because the stopper will pull a slight vacuum and help get stubborn air out. Not all generic cups do this well. The Shimano syringe is low quality, because syringe really is not important with Shimano brakes. I keep it as a spare or for topping off the cup.

Bleed blocks need to at least be the exact same thickness, as the OEM block for the caliper, or you won’t get proper bleed. (Hint don’t use Shimano block with TRP/Tektro). Block needs to at least fully support the pistons. Don’t roll the dice with universal blocks and $$$ ceramic pistons.

Looks fantastic compared to the $18 kit I got. Mine works by this one looks way better. Well worth the money.
