Hello guys,

I bought a bike and since I’m new in this world I would like some help related to V brake.

When I press the brakes, only one of the sides that is connected to the cabes move, so it doesn't brake properly.

I know that for some reason this problem is caused by the sides not receiving the same force to move the brake mechanism located above the wheel, but I don’t know how to solve it.

I tried to do adjustments in every part that I’m showing in the picture (green, red, blue and orange), but it didn't work.

Thank you everyone!

  1. There’s a lot of videos on v brake adjustment on YouTube. You’ll have more luck with that then someone trying to describe it.

  2. Assuming everything else is ok the red screw is how you can adjust the spring tension. If you screw it in , that arm will move further away from rim. You can adjust both sides until centered.
