Hi,

I'm packing up my bike in a Scicon Bike Bag for travel. This bike (Cervelo P-Series Triathlon Bike) is rather new to me – I was wondering if it is possible to take off/disconnect the Shamino Ultegra derailer from the back of the bike. When I try unscrewing the main bolt, I'm met with quite a bit of resistance – I'm cautious about pulling harder until I know for sure it can be detached. Plus, there an exposed wire connecting the derailer to the rest of the bike. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks, and sorry for the "dumb question.

  1. Gangrapechickens on

It looks like a Di2 so the wire is just the battery, you should be able to just unplug it from the derailur. Which bolt are you trying to unscrew?

Where do you plan to put the derailur. It seems more likely to be damaged by removing it as that’s not standard practice

  2. Just to confirm, you’re trying to unscrew the bolt connected to the main body of to the derailleur right? It should be a standard thread (lefty loosey), but may have some thread locked in place making the bolt feel quite tight.
