I just got my $700 trek stolen!!! Woo! Need a new bike. But don't know hardly anything. Is this vintage Raleigh Capri worth the price? Found on FB Marketplace. She says "everything works." She doesn't know frame size but she's 5'7" and it's comfortable for her. No other pictures. She says I can test ride. Thanks for your help!

"Classic model from the 1980s, known for its steel frame and touring capabilities.
Features a lugged chromoly steel frame and fork.
Drop handlebars, a kickstand, and a multi-speed drivetrain.
Lightweight and comfortable for daily use."

  1. It’s very mediocre. I believe the Capri was a lower-end model, so not really anything special, but I don’t know that there was necessarily anything wrong with it, either.

This model has had some weird stuff done to it. They’ve removed the shifters, derailleurs, and even rear brake, and turned it into a really cheap version of a single speed. They left the original freewheel, though, so I imagine the gearing may be strange, as the chain probably have defaulted to the gear with the best chainline.

    Size-wise I’d guess 54cm
