so this is a hell diver correct and they’re like Space Marines also correct from like 40K more like Halo oh ODST oh yeah they’re normal soldiers that just have better weapons and army because super Earth is far in the future did you just say super Earth correct explain so in the future all the nations of the world come together and they create what’s called super Earth but if all the nations live together in harmony and peace then who are they fighting aliens what yeah as superar started to explore space they came across other species and they were all hostile not really until super Earth decided they want it to be what I mean if there’s life out there then they must pose a threat to Super Earth and also manage democracy manage democracy it’s a new form of democracy where your vote is determined on a quiz you take so if BuzzFeed made all the laws yeah basically that’s stupid but how does this matter to the game not at all what yeah the game is mostly just about shooting bugs or robots and completing missions to liberate the universe when you say liberate what do you actually mean each Mission you go on helps the planet be liberated and the servers take all the players completing missions and puts them to the liberation of a planet that’s pretty cool like we’re all working for the same goal exactly and now I need to ask you if I realize this game is actually just imperialism hidden behind heavy layers of propaganda no are you doing your part Soldier but the [ __ ]

  1. Bugs in HellDivers are like roaches…. if left "Un-Checked" they will spread and destroy everything. Meaning it's always necessary to "liberate" them and tap in to a viable source of resources in the process. Same thing with the bots. Take em out before they take us out and "Liberate" their resources in the process as well…. The illuminate? Yeah….. They would have been hostile on their own regardless and their tech is definitely worth it in the end. To the victor goes those sweet, sweet spoils of Democracy and war ❤❤❤❤

  2. The whole idea of the narrative is being on the fascist imperialist side of the war, run by sketchy propaganda to disguise their actual values as "democracy", "justice" and "liberty". It's very obvious that humans are the bad guys in this, while pretending they aren't. That's what makes the narrative so cool.

PS: this comment might be labeled as a traitorous broadcast by the Ministry of Defense.

  3. i love this game strictly on how government it is, like let’s go “spread democracy” around the galaxy were totally not just trying to control everything and literally enslave other creatures

  4. Not just imperialism. All the enemy factions are specific nods to US history.
The bugs are claimed to be a threat to their safety, but in the end, it's just about resources (oil to be precise). This is just the US in the Middle East.
The automatons (or more precisely the cyborgs before them) are considered a threat because of collectivist and socialist ideas. This is mainly inspired by the red scare in general, but also specific interventionist actions like in Chile.
The Illuminate are the most obvious case. They were originally allies, but Super Earth attacked under the false pretense of "weapons of mass destruction". This is just the Iraq war all over again.

  5. Yes that is exactly it bruh!!!!! Liberty!!!! Brought to you by Liberty-biberty make sure you insurance is paid up so we can deny your claim helldiver.

  6. Fortunate Son in the background was a nice touch. This is basically why I quit playin. Lore was deep & gameplay mechanics were fun, but I can't in good conscience gleefully play character roles that glorify fascism these days.🤷‍♂️

  7. This man is a traitor to Super Earth and Managed Democracy. The Automatons and Terminids were hostile from the beginning, and the Illuminate are even worse than the Clankers and Clickers

  8. There is voting for mayor desitions, like deploying to a new planet and moving the main space station. Having the space station close by gives more suport like deploying exosuits, my team defeated Hive lords with a 4 exosuit formation.

  9. Better explanation Skynet from the Terminator, arachnids and terminids from Starship Troopers and 40k, and the Covenant and tripods from Halo and War of the Worlds band together to kill and enslave humanity and ODST Space Marines are tasked with showing these godless freaks why humanity is the superior species born to inherit the stars.
