I just parked up and noticed that the inner third of my rotor doesn’t look like it’s being grabbed. The brakes work completely fine are just a bit honky when not grabbed fully but I associate that with cintered pads a bit anyway? It’s a 180mm rotor with the adapter added when I swapped out the 160mms that came on the bike. Should I not be running the washers? I just installed them as they were when it was running 160mms.

  1. Looks like you have an extra set of washers on top of each post instead of just under bolt head

  2. Usually the conical washers have a thin and thick set. Tough to tell from the picture but make sure you put the thin ones under the caliper. You could also try not using them at all, a lot of people don’t, I do.

Pull the brake pad and look at the wear pattern. If the brake pads look evenly worn in then there is no problem. It could be that the rotor is meant for a bigger brake pad. As I remember from my avid bb7 the washers set looks correct.
