  1. That rim is tubeless ready.

I also googled your tires for you, they do not appear to tubeless compatible. So you need to get some tubeless tape, sealant, valves, snd tubeless tires to go tubeless.

  2. Were your holes mostly due to rocks, needles, spoke hole damage, or pinching? There could be other solutions to your issue. Thicker tube, better time tape, tire inserts… Or new tires depending on their condition.

Duct tape works in a pinch and it sticks way better to the rim than something like rim tape. You will need tubeless valves and sealant as well. You can do it but it’s pointless

  4. Yup, you just need the correct width tubeless rim tape, correct length tubeless valves and sealant. You’ll also need some tubeless ready tires. FYI: the reality is that just about any rim can be converted to tubeless. Around 2001, Stan’s came out with their first tubeless conversion kits and I turned my standard Mavic rims tubeless with regular tires. 🙂

  5. I’ve had a pretty good hit rate on just using whatever rims and tyres are on the bike at the time.

I’ve had 2 rims that wouldn’t work. One that was a really loose fit on any tyre and one single wall thing that never stood a chance.

The hooks don’t seem to really make a difference. Anything vaguely modern is seemingly fine.

  6. “Tubeless ready” is mostly marketing hype. I’ve only run across 2 tire/tube combinations I couldn’t get to seal up (one was from a schwinn beach cruiser, and one from a kids fat bike). That said, the tolerances on a tubeless ready should be better and it should seal up easier.
