My friend let me borrow his air pump but I can't find the locking mechanism? I've tried googling the brand but can't find this model specifically. I can connect it to the tyre (it empties it of air) but there is no place to lock it and stop the air flowing out. I feel really really stupid, can someone help me?

Is the top part threaded so that you can turn it to lock onto the valve?
Try turning the valve knob?
The gasket in the pump head should hold it tightly to a Presta valve.
I think that there’s no locking mechanism with these.
I had to buy one at a supermarket once as a emergency and it worked, although it didn’t do well. I think these were popular when Schrader valves were pretty much the only valves around.
Yeah I think it just needs pressure against the valve. At least that’s how mine works.
