  1. trying to get a perfect match is a fool’s errand.. even if you used the same exact paint, it won’t be applied the same way, won’t have the same primer under it, won’t be the same thickness, and would stand out as a repair. I prefer model enamel to nail polish, and you can mix different shades and try to get a close match but even if you nailed it when wet, it will dry a slightly different color.

    If you want the frame to match, strip it and repaint the entire thing. Otherwise, Just do what is necessary to protect the metal and don’t obsess over it.
