  1. The clearance at the chainstays on the rear wheel are the determining factor. that’s where tire rub is most common. Brake clearance looks generous. If you can fit an 8mm hex wrench all around, it’ll at least take a 28mm tire.

    Lateral Chainstay or seat stay clearance (tire to frame) minus 10mm, whichever is smaller, but no guarantees.

    I measure both sides in case of lopsidedness.

    Maybe some smooth 40’s, maybe. Yolo

    Edit before I get my head bit off, I’m an idiot, so that that for what it is. The tire will rub until it fits perfectly.
