My wife and I decided to swing by Goodwill while on vacation today and I immediately saw the xbiking Holy Grail, a 1987 Bridgestone MB-1 with a 55cm seattube for $40 by the front door. I already knew my wife was a keeper but not questioning the purchase and letting me bring it in out of the cold into our hotel room was the cherry on top.
Aside from the usual wear items (hoods, tape, saddle, cables, tires, brake pads, and chain) is there anything Bridgestone specific I need to be thinking of? I plan on treating the minor paint chips and surface rust with a rust stopper and giving the inside of the tubes a good shot of frame saver.
I'm 6'3 so the sizing may be a bit cramped for me. If I were to try and sell this later is it better to leave the components as is for resale? I've never owned a bike with bar end shifters before so I'm a bit torn here. The only non-oem component I can tell is that the suntour XC-9000 front derailleur has been replaced with tiagra.

This is one of those cases where i would try to keep it as original as possible.
But in the end, its just a thing. A thing that was mass produced and meant to be used. Do with it as you wish, enjoy it.
Where are you located?
Good score! Way too small for you unfortunately, how tall is your wife?
