I have some new ones in the mail coming in a week, but was wondering if these are still rideable without damaging my rims? I've been riding for a bit on these and they are making noise so I got some replacements. But should I be worried about my rims?
They still have stopping power, and I still have my rear brakes, just don't want to be damaging more components riding when I shouldn't be.
You can still see the wear indicators slightly so I've just assumed it's been fine.

Also the brakes I have are Tektro cantilever brakes, Idk which ones exactly, but like the CR720.

  1. You can totally ride those until your new ones come. They’re not gonna damage your rims at all, the worst that’s gonna happen is you have less stopping power cause your pads are old and hardened. The squeaking is from not “toeing in” your brake pads like this. You will notice way better braking when you install your new pads 🙂
