Recently tried converting an old road bike into a gravel bike and after spending too much £££ on different tyres that wouldn’t fit the super tight frame I gave up. Spotted the frame & fork on eBay and I’ve fallen in love.

A modern mix of mtb and gravel is what I’m hoping for.

Brother Cycles Kepler Disc – neon fade
Mavic Ksyrium gravel wheel set
WTB Riddler 37 tyres
Campagnolo Ekar carbon cranks (not shown)
Ribble Al E integrated stem & bars 600W 70L (upside down of course, we don’t do ‘normal’ when it comes to handlebars on this sub)
1×10 currently, but may swap it out for a 1×11.

May also get some short tri bars and ends to slap on, but don’t want to get silly.

Rigid mountain bikes are still a great choice especially in bike packing and the more adventure side of gravel. Lovely color way! Unless you can rig the power meter up to measure the watts generated from an overloaded front basket bouncing around I think it will be lost on r/X-biking though.

  2. I remember seeing this colourway on the Woods Cyclery website a few years back and it has remained one of my favourite paint jobs ever since. Like a mix of a classic 90s MTB and one of the old Cinelli Tuttos

  3. Are radial drive side spokes a common thing now? Seems kinda whack, there used to be cross drive side spokes & radial on the other side when used with rim brakes (as there’s no torque on the hub/spokes from the rim brakes).
