﴿47﴾ وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ 47 And they used to say : “When we are dead and become dust and bones, are we to be resurrected !?
﴿48﴾ أَوَآبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ 48. So are our remote ancestors [too] ?
﴿49﴾ قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ 49. Say “The remote and the later" …
﴿50﴾ لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَعْلُومٍ 50 Will be indeed gathered for an appointment of a known day
﴿51﴾ ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ 51 Then you will ,O ye the astray , the disbelievers
﴿52﴾ لَآكِلُونَ مِنْ شَجَرٍ مِنْ زَقُّومٍ 52 surely eat from the tree¹ of hell
﴿53﴾ فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ 53 filling bellies with it
﴿54﴾ فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ 54 drinking on top of it scalding water
﴿55﴾ فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ 55 drinking as parched camels drink
﴿56﴾ هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ 56 This is their hospitality on the Day of Retribution
