I'm trying to diagnose a creaking bottom bracket and after removing the crank and cleaning out a dirty/gritty BB and regreasing/reassembly it still creaks under load.npulling it out again it seems like the bearings are almost wearing grooves into the spindle. Is this normal wear..and it it's not will a new BB with new bearings fix the creak?

So here is the thing about Bottom Bracket noises that can be persistent even after service; ITS NOT YOUR BOTTOM BRACKET. The markings on the spindle are normal. This isn’t an engine crank made of steel that needs to hold oil pressure, it’s lightweight aluminum that will slowly wear out under even the best conditions. Yours looks ready for many more miles or years of use.
Grease the threads of the pedal where they go into the crank. Check your rear wheel and hub. Grease your seatpost. Look somewhere other than the bottom bracket.
How much work have you put it to diagnose that the creek is in fact in the BB? Creaks can be anywhere.
It definitely felt gritty but I thought that was all the grit and dirt in there, after cleaning and regreasing it still feels a bit grittier than I would expect.
