Thank you in advance for reading and helping me out 🙂

I have this '96 off brand mtb I’m trying to get running. I have just installed new shift cables and housings according to many youtube videos. My rear derailleur can only shift one gear up off the smallest on the cassette. Somebody at a shop bent it by hand earlier and it shifted through all the gears, but I've dropped it since then. I feel like I should bent it outward, but I’m not sure how much or where and I’d really rather not put anymore money into this bike with a new derailleur. Can somebody explain how I need to make this thing look in order to shift through all gears?

Shift cable was installed hand tight on the smallest gear while the friction shifter was in its loosest position. Let me know if there are any other pictures/videos I can provide.

This requires level 2 bending skill.

If you haven’t yet unlocked this ability, true a few wheels and repair fifty flats. You’ll gain the xp required to repair this with one hand, leaving a hand free to pour coffee.
