Hello.
Several co-workers said I should swap out my knobby tires for road tires. My current tires appear to be 26 X 2.14. I only see road tires that are 26 X 2.12 or 2.2. Would these work?
Also any tire recommendations.
I will be traveling around 5 to 10 miles per day. Closer to 5 miles. Mostly bike paths that are filthy.
Thanks

2.12 will work. 2.20 likely will, assuming your current tires are not a tight fit already (too close to the frame or fork).
If your bike paths can be a little dirty or muddy you should get some tires that have a little bit of grip on the side so you dont lose traction and fall.
Consider searching for “gravel bike tires” like the Panaracer Gravel King that have a good mixture between traction and smoothness.
you could run a semislick xc tyre like for Example a Vittoria a Terreno XC Race. Feels almost like a road tyre but doesn’t compromise on comfort or sideways grip
Personally been putting miles daily on Surly ExtraTerrestrial tires out in the Arizona desert setup as tubeless. Might be a good fit for your commute as you claim to ride on filthy (muddy, dusty, grimey?) paths but need something more of a smooth road tire. Good balance of slick and grip, but also wide for gravel.
