Got new SKS Edge AL's for wet season. Followed all the instructions (long rods for the rear, short for the front). But the rear rods are like 2-3cm too long. Should I trim them?
It’s common having to cut them to the right length. Use a metal saw.

I had trouble with those fenders also, even when I had adjusted the fender stays there wasn’t sufficient clearance under the fender, not helped by having 40mm tyres, I don’t want to go for smaller tyres so I’ve abandoned the project for now.

Trim them down. The neatest method I found was using a small adjustable pipe cutter, gradually tighten and turn around the rods. It’ll take a few tries but it’ll eventually cut through enough you can then just break the rods at the groove.

Mudguard stay shortening is the only time you want to have bolt cutters near your bike

Cut them, or i often just bend them outwards abit. This slight bend can easy account for extra inch and make it snug fit around the wheel.
