Might be a stupid questions since I bought it from a reputable website, but I can’t help but notice the cut and finish (and the small ding in the metal on the second image) the China label (although Ive heard they make some rotors in China

Don’t mind the toes.
That looks pretty normal.
I’ve seen the same sort of stamping marks on mine.
Remember, this is one of Shimano’s cheapest rotors.
(FWIW, I like buying rotors with the aluminum spider, especially for large diameter ones, because it makes them harder to bend.)
Those are real, but alas they no longer make them in Japan. I was looking for Japan-made RT-66 as they used to be laser-cut and not stamped. Unfortunately they are now virtually impossible to find, maybe some new old stock still exists, but I wasn’t able to find any
I don’t know how this could be fake. It’s essentially machined steel, as cheap as it gets.
Even if it was ‘fake’ it’d probably be produced in the same place as the real ones and sold for cheaper when the employees steal a batch for themselves or something.
Thanks for the replies, the second image is most definitely just a small manufacturing defect, as long as it doesn’t affect anything
I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. But I’ve gotten stuff from AliExpress and whatnot. They’re not fake, just off brands. Aluminum is aluminum. And yes, most stuff come from china anyways, the off brands are the same exact thing from the same exact factory just without the logo a lot of the time. Everything I’ve got from there has worked just fine. No complaints whatsoever. Idk if I’d buy a frame from over there, but between my different bikes I have stems, pair of bars, pedals, a chain, a cassette, idk everything exactly, plus I’ve had several other things in the past on previous bikes that I’ve sold. No, I don’t think this is “fake” at all. You’re fine. Even if it was, aluminum is aluminum. And chromoly is chromoly. (Yes I know there are different qualities or each, but those are labeled. I mean that just in general. 6061 aluminum is 6061 and so on.) I’ve held a name brand stem and an off brand stem that were very similar, same size, ect, and they were literally the same thing. I have “fake” rotors on 2 of my bikes and they work great.
