Besides the grand Double Helix staircase, it’s actually pretty bare inside. Not much decorations. But you are allowed to walk pretty much the entire castle including the roofs.

Chambourd is grand and majestic. The staircase is a marvel. You'll never forget it but it was never for living. The layout inside is wonky and haphazard. Once you get the inital rush of excitement from the rooflines and walk the staircase the party is over.

It must have been amazing to be a king! How much blood and sweat was shed by ordinary people so that the king could get another empty palace when many of his subjects were starving to death. Movie vampires are just angels in comparison.
