My ADHD brain (and impaired working memory has failed me) 😅 I needed to pack my bike for transportation overseas, and had to remove the seatpost, handlebars/stem, and pedals. But upon trying to reassemble it, I can’t work out where this piece (the small black metal tab/hook) goes. Might anyone have any ideas?
ChatGPT seems to think it has something to do with the seatpost but I can’t work out how it can fit there. I feel like I recall lifting the tab, somehow, to enable something else (maybe the compression plug, under the top cap) to come loose… but yeah, can’t work it out 😬 And I’m so sure that if I ride without it, the bike will disintegrate beneath me 😆

It’s for the crankarm. The two bolts on the nondrive side.
Google “shimano crank security plate”
