found this garage queen at a great price. aluminum frame with a chromoly fork. loved the idea that all my 90s mtb tools would work on it and wanted a simple road bike as a final in the n+n garage. all shimano rsx.

swapped the bb, new chain, threw on new pads, cables and housing, and added a suntour friction stem shifter for the front triple (just a personal preference). old cassette maxed out at 26t so bumped up to 32t on the new cassette. oh and 700×28 gravelking tires which i love so far. this was my first attempt at doing bar tape myself so went with some cheapie cork to give it a go. will prob update with a darker leather later!

  1. Great bike to ride around. Nice remodel. I had a Trek 1220 for years in the blue/purple fade. I believe that RSX, at least the seven speed generation, is the only shimano roadset ever to have a small chainring below 30, at 28. Great bikes.
